Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority BFTDA - via Innovation Works -PECA Labs was founded by a group of Carnegie Mellon alumni including a pediatric surgeon, PECA Labs is revolutionizing cardiovascular implantable devices with a polymer platform and a novel design approach. PECA Labs is a medical device development company focused on bringing new solutions to underserved populations: Our first product, the Masa Valve, is a surgeon-created, engineer-optimized, clinically-implanted and validated heart valve.

Part of the statewide Manufacturing PA Initiative, the IRCs are a network of regional organizations focused on assisting manufacturers with growth strategies and staying competitive in a changing global economy. Workforce development consultations are part of their many available services. 

Pennsylvania’s Industry Partnerships (IPs) are regional industrial partnerships of businesses in a shared labor market who work with multiple teams to address overall competitiveness of the industry. Employers are welcome to join their local IPs for networking, collaboration, and setting sustainable initiatives. 

The Workforce & Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA) is a DCED-funded workforce training program helping employers upskill employees to fill in employment gaps. 

The DCED-funded Foundations in Industry Training (FIT) Grant Program can be used to help cover the costs of formal instruction or classroom requirements associated with apprenticeships. 

The Manufacturing PA Training-to-Career Grant Program supports new and innovative training programs focused on developing the skill sets of entry-level applicants in the manufacturing industry to better meet the needs of hiring employers. 

The Statewide Movement for Accountability, Readiness, & Training (PASmart) is a multi-pronged workforce initiative supporting students, job seekers, and workers by connecting them with the information they need to succeed in our evolving economy.
