Parcel Health Makes First Sale to Canada

Parcel Health, a women-founded small business based in Pittsburgh, aims to replace plastic prescription bottles with intuitively designed, eco-friendly, patient-inspired packaging that is safer for people and the planet.

The inaugural solution, Phill Box, was a plastic-free and easy-to-use medication packaging. When pharmacists asked for an automation-friendly solution, Parcel Health created Tully Tube, a paper-based medication tube that uses 53% less plastic. It works with automation systems and provides superior temperature stability during shipping.

Parcel Health was referred to their Regional Export Network (REN) partner, the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC), for assistance identifying a distributor for their products in Toronto, Canada.

Pennsylvania’s trade representative in Canada completed a customized partner search and within a few weeks, successfully confirmed 5 meetings with potential distributors.

“With this trip [to Toronto], we gathered important market insights directly from key executives. It increased our confidence in exporting to Canada and helped us identify the appropriate channel partners for our small business.” – Melinda Lee, Co-founder & CEO

In January 2024, Parcel Health reported its first export sale to Canada and also announced the selection of its exclusive Canadian distributor of its Phill Box product line.
