Jared Smith (Founder & CEO, Victus Sports):

Victus was founded in 2012. We actually started making bats around 2009 in a small garage in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. We moved over here to King of Prussia in year five, and we've been manufacturing out of this building since then.

People have been manufacturing here in Pennsylvania for years and years, and you see that blue collar mentality really come through on our work floor.

Pennsylvania truly is the best location for us. It's close to our wood mills. We started looking at the cost of doing business one place versus the other, and it truly made a lot of sense for us to just be here in PA. It also provides us with great talent as far as our employees.

Bruce Tatem a.k.a The Bat King (Special Projects Manager):

Victus had swag. So that was one of the things that really drew me to the company. As an artist, you want to be around other artists and you want to feel culture.

We have Valley Forge. We have Philadelphia right down the road. So much inspiration from all over.

Doug Trimble (Brand Manager):

We're known globally and nationally, and everyone has gotten to know us for the big time pros that use our bats on TV every day, but Victus is a homegrown PA company.

You know, obviously, we have a great relationship with the Phillies. We outfit a lot of the players with Victus bats, so we might have some last minute needs for some players in the morning. We can make their bats right here in King of Prussia, having the Bat King do our crazy custom designs and drive them down later that day.

Tatem: Working directly with the players it lets their personalities shine and show through and allows them to really, you know, take a piece of themselves to the plate.

Smith: I see the potential for Victus to really grow over these next few years. I mean, for us, we'll continue to grow in other products. My passion's always been around baseball as a kid. The 12-year-old version of me loves what I get to do every day, if we're being honest, and to be able to do all this in our home state is truly special.

Tatem: Pennsylvania, gets it done.
